The Book of the Generations

From Adam to the Christ

The unbroken thread of promise traced through Scripture — from the dust of Eden to the manger of Bethlehem, each name marked by the passage that first records it.

All references and quotations follow the English Standard Version (ESV). Chapter-and-verse tags mark where each name is named in the biblical text.

Each card also carries a people / nation tag: stated in the ESV text (e.g. Ruth the Moabite, Uriah the Hittite), derived by descent (the branch of the line they belong to), or not stated where Scripture gives no ethnic label. Where the text is silent, none is invented.
